ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Betsy Shibles and I am a school counselor for 5th and 6th grade students. I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in Elementary Education and later earned my Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Southern Maine. I am beginning my 24th year with the Westbrook School Department. Most of my career has been spent as a 5th grade teacher at Canal School. I spent four years working as a school counselor at the elementary level and currently am in my 4th year at WMS. I feel so fortunate to be part of such a talented and dedicated group of professionals. When I was in middle school, I saw my counselor only once. I had the misconception that students only visited the guidance office if they were in trouble or had big problems. I strive to build connections with ALL of my students everyday! I want them to know that they matter. It is a privilege to spend my time working with students to help them reach their potential. Stop by the guidance office for a visit! You can also contact me at 854-0830 or by e-mailing [email protected]. |
