Hello! I'm Rachel Dunbar and this is my fourth year as a school counselor at Westbrook Middle School. Prior to this, I worked as a guidance counselor at Westbrook High School for six years and am excited about my transition here! Meeting with my students, hearing about their lives and helping them through challenging situations is what I love most about this job.
When I was in middle school, we had an advice column in our school's newspaper called "Dear Penny". I applied to be "Penny", got the job, loved it and have wanted to be a guidance counselor ever since. After graduating from high school, I studied at the University of Maine at Farmington where I also played basketball and was a Peer Mentor for first-year students. I then went on to the University of Maine to earn my masters degree in Counselor Education.
I'm very happy to be working here! You can find me in the school counseling office at Westbrook Middle School or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
